This June, Songshan Lake in Dongguan City embraces a vibrant summer as the Songshan Lake Developer Conference 2026 (SDC 2026) unfolds in full swing. Featuring more than 20 cultural, sports, and trendy activities that integrate technology, sports, leisure, and entertainment, the event has attracted enthusiastic participation from numerous developers and local residents. It presents a distinctive cultural and sports gala for this tech-focused city.
A variety of featured activities were held to create a lively atmosphere. The fluorescent fun run with Huawei fans took place along the 11-kilometer lakeside trail over two consecutive nights, attracting nearly 500 participants in total. Runners wore glowing accessories as they jogged around the lake, while organizers set up rest and supply stations along the route. Volunteers provided materials and services to ensure the smooth running of the event.
The cycling activity kicked off at Songshan Lake Science Park. Nearly 100 cycling enthusiasts rode along the lakeside greenways, passing Huawei Xiliubeipo Village and the Huawei Steel Bridge. Along the way, they enjoyed the beautiful lakeside scenery and iconic urban landmarks.
Friendly basketball matches were held at Binhu Basketball Court. Players competed fiercely on the court while spectators cheered enthusiastically. The well-equipped venues also won high praise from all participants.
"Honor of Kings" esports tournament brought together 32 teams and over 150 players. Teams from Huawei competed against local youth squads, and a team of post-2000-born players claimed the championship. The tournament also served as a platform for tech practitioners and local young people to communicate and interact.
Beyond sports competitions, a Concert of Percussion Music, lawn camping parties, and starrysky movie screenings were held one after another. These events brought diverse experiences to all attendees.
The carnival also launched an innovative market themed around world-champion coffee and premium chocolate. Several well-known coffee and chocolate brands set up stalls here. Meanwhile, the "Three Cities Fireworks" Flavor Food Truck served delicacies from different regions, filling the venue with a warm, urban vibe.
To boost local consumption and reward participants, Songshan Lake issued consumption coupons worth over one million yuan during the event.
