Located at the geometric center of Dongguan, Songshan Lake High-tech Zone is in the "Golden Inner Bay" of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and the middle part of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macao Science and Technology Innovation Corridor. It borders Hong Kong and Shenzhen to the south and Guangzhou to the north. As a key node on the GBA’s main development route, it is well connected to the GBA’s "one-hour living circle". It hassignificantgeographic advantages, with four major international airports and five major international seaports nearby.
Road Transportation
The park has a well-connected road network, with six expressways surrounding the area: Dongguan-Shenzhen Expressway, Guangzhou-Longchuan Expressway, Dongguan-Foshan Expressway, Longda Expressway, Nanguang Expressway, and Conghua-Dongguan-Shenzhen Expressway. These provide rapid access to core cities in the GBA, such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Foshan, enabling a one-hour commute to major cities. Internally, the network connects major urban arterial roads such as Songshan Lake Avenue and Ecological Park Avenue, ensuring efficient and convenient internal commuting.
Rail Transportation
Intercity railways: The Dongguan-Huizhou Intercity Railway and Dongguan-Foshan Intercity Railway are already in operation. The Foshan-Guangzhou-Dongguan Intercity Railway, Central Axis Intercity Railway, Zhongnan-Humen Intercity Railway, and Shenzhen-Dongguan-Zengcheng Intercity Railway are currently in the planning stage. Upon completion, these six intercity rail lines will form an integrated network, enabling rapid direct connections with major cities across the Greater Bay Area.
Urban Metro: Dongguan Metro Line 1 has been completedand is planned to connect with Guangzhou Metro Line 25. Line 3 is included in the near-term plans and will connect with Shenzhen Metro Line 11. Line 5 is planned for the long term and will connect with Shenzhen Metro Line 13. These three cross-city metro lines will greatly improvecommuting efficiency for Shenzhen-Dongguan and Guangzhou-Dongguan urban integration.
Logistics Support
The park is adjacent to major international ports including Humen Port and Yantian Port, ensuring smooth customs clearance for import and export goods. Backed by Dongguan's well-established manufacturing supply chain, it connects to the core manufacturing capacity of the Pearl River Delta (PRD) within one hour, providing efficient industrial support for enterprise development.
