Dongguan Songshan Lake High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Songshan Lake Science City) is located in the golden heartlandof the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and at the geometric center of Dongguan. Bordering Shenzhen and Hong Kong to the south and Guangzhou to the north, it serves as the core innovation platform of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macao Science and Technology Innovation Corridor, as well as a key component of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Comprehensive National Science Center Pilot Zone—the fourth of its kind in China.
Established in 2001, the park adheres to the development philosophy of "Integrating Science and Technology with Scenic Beauty, Developing a New City alongside Prosperous Industries". It was born from innovation, grows with innovation, and thrives on innovation. In 2010, it was upgraded to a national-level high-tech industrial development zone. In July 2020, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) jointly approved the construction of the Pilot Zone for the GBA Comprehensive National Science Center, with Shenzhen Guangming Science City and Dongguan Songshan Lake Science City as the core pillars. With this designation, Songshan Lake has officially become a key carrier for China's national innovation-driven development strategy.
As the core engine driving Dongguan's high-quality development, Songshan Lake remains firmly committed to innovation-driven development. Focusing on four key pillars-science and technology, industry, urban development, and talent-it steadily promotesthe building of five core roles: a hub for high-end industries, a leader in scientific and technological innovation, a magnet for outstanding talent, a model of high-qualityurban construction, and a pioneer in reform and innovation, continuously unlocking strong momentum for innovation-driven growth.
